The Nuggets have acquired center Ronny Turiaf from the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Anthony Randolph.
Turiaf, 30, is expected to take the backup center spot behind JaVale McGee and provide a veteran presence at the position. He will likely be playing alongside scoring big man J.J. Hickson in the second unit.
"We're quite pleased to announce this acquisition," Nuggets GM Parka said. "Ronny's a great vet who can provide some energy, hustle, and defense off the bench -- something we really needed."
The Nuggets are reportedly content with Turiaf and Hickson in the second unit, and will focus their attention now on acquiring a wing.
They are also reportedly in discussions with some free agents and could announce a signing soon.
