But given this rocky season in Houston, frustration off the court, it was time we parted ways. The Rockets have been quietly vetting new coaches over the last couple weeks, and this most recent 4-game losing streak was the trigger for us to finally make our move.
The Houston Rockets are thrilled to welcome NBA legend Chauncey Billups as our next head coach. We believe in his vision as a strategist. With him, he brings along three extremely talented assistants: Arthur Morgan and Heddick Steele, two of the D-League's rising star coaches, both savants with a clipboard in their hands and both know how to get this team running and playing fast like it should. And Carlin Heard as our third assistant, as a defensive evaluator. Best of luck to all of you, you have a few chances to get us a title, or else.
