A New Era in the Mile High City
A new day has dawned over the mountains of Colorado, and it brings with it a bit of Greek flavour.
The brand new Front Office made their inaugural selection in this past weeks draft, selecting the Greek-Army knife, Vassilis Charalampopolous with the 10th overall pick. "We loved his versatility. At a time in this franchise that we consider to be a clean slate, it was a big plus for us to bring in someone that we feel could excel at multiple different spots on the floor. And he should have the runway this season to experience an abundance of different situations with and without the ball in his hand."
Does this mean the end in Denver for veteran Guard Frank Ntilikina? When asked for comment the Belgian simply stated "Je m'en fou. J'aime beaucoup la ville et l'equipe, mais je sais que c'est une entreprise." Leaving the majority of the reporters confused as to what he had just said.
Doubling down, Vassilis was quoted as saying "Είμαι πολύ ενθουσιασμένος που θα ξεκινήσω εδώ στο Ντένβερ, και ειδικά για να δοκιμάσω όλα τα υπέροχα αμερικανικά φαγητά για τα οποία έχω ακούσει." It's worth noting that Vassilis' translator had his visa delayed, and is expected to arrive in Colorado shortly.
The Nuggets are expected to use the rest of the offseason to plug some holes in the front court on the defensive side of the ball. "We're new here but it's easy to get a sense that interior play is an integral part of the league, so we need to do our best to keep up in that sense, but as we said, this is a marathon and we'll take our time to get things done right."
The Manager of the Team Shop and the stadium announcer released statements on the draft pick:

"I do not endorse this selection, it will bring unnecessary stress to my job this season. I have reached out to see if he is okay being referred to as Big V, as I'm just not sure how I will cope with pronouncing his name after every bucket"

"Yea I'm not pleased, I genuinely don't think we have the budget for all the letters required to go on the back of his jersey. I'm hoping the team brings out a nameless alternate jersey this season that the fans can purchase."
One rough season for a franchise used to winning and stability, has clearly hit hard.
The Nuggets finished 36-46 this season, ending a long streak of at least .500 ball. They sat in 4th place in arguably the toughest division in the CSL, boasting three 50+ Win teams. And a Western conference however that has only produced 3 of the last 10 CSL Champions. They turn their attention now to Free Agency and the trade market.
