Consultant?

I think sometimes that it would be useful to be able to ask somebody for help. Reading the Sim Results, I see a good few GMs attempting to tweak their Depth Chart, Philosophies and Strategies to maximise winning. There is also a lot of frustration if this does not deliver results. I’ve been there – after a 2-6 start last season, I made changes every sim, yet saw Ls piling up sim after sim after sim. This leads to frustration like you wouldn’t believe…
How about introducing a Consultant of sorts. I think Myles had something like that earlier in CSL history but it didn’t last. Now that we have the budget for coaches – perhaps it would be interesting to have a Consultant there that will be paid for from your Coaches budget.

Something like this: I get super frustrated with the Losses so I reach out to the Consultant. They review the team end to end and provide a quote. Say $100K to help out with the DC and $100K to show how to use the strengths and weaknesses of a particular player - maximise the player’s performance and positive impact on the team. Maybe even to review a potential trade - not provide an opinion, but highlight some pluses and minuses of the trade for the team.

These are once off deals that are applicable to the current situation. The debit will appear on your Coaches budget next year or something like that – so as to introduce a bit of strategy

The Fee can then be used to bail out some teams or to loan some cash to struggling teams at Commish’s discretion (similar to profit sharing in NBA) or for whatever else.

I know GMs like Tim and Jamal would not care much for this but I’d be happy to pick somebody’s brain and have a formal process for it.

Jamal and I doing it pretty often. Talking trades, offers, tactics sometimes. Actually we are doing it right now again, lol.
Believe here are a lot guys always open to throw in a second opinion.

I love this concept actually. I'd take advantage of it. Example: I have absolutely no what type of personnel should be used for each offensive set type (so I just use standard for now ha).

The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the money coming out of the coaching budget. Everyone has already made their bids under the explanation from Myles that the money can't be used anywhere else. Bids might have looked a little different if GMs knew they could use the money somewhere else.

Making changes every sim isn't a good idea anyway. You really need at least 10-15 games (some would say 20) with a strategy and setup before you can see if it really works or not.

No money necessary, I'm a free consultant since I have no team. I know plenty of GMs here that are always happy to lend their knowledge as well, don't ever be afraid to reach out to one of us.

In fact I remember when you started bad on the first games last year, mostly due to a hard schedule, not to panic and to keep the same strat and gave the team an opportunity. I was pretty sure your team was a top one in the west last year, even with the team you started without the shooters.

But I could've been wrong too, so I understand it's frustrating when you see your team lose. But as Jestor mentions, I also think a team needs some kind of stability in terms of strat specially to succeed.

Dapralbe and I are talking daily about depth charts, results and more(i send his tem files)...although I really don't pay much attention because he has a crazy ideas.

haha if some ideas are crazy, but they all have meaning to the basketball, I apply the logic basing on statistics and attempting to commit the least errors, each team has its good and bad things in memphis is not what you put but I would try play like real life whether or not I would put good defenders would play full slow indoor court for my two good randolf and gasol, zone out. something like real life, my friend goikiri I think I have some crazy ideas, but usually work. you're an excellent manager andrei sure you find answers to your computer. good luck!

sorry I think the translator has some not, but what I meant is that you're right, sometimes I hit the ground first but I love to try new ideas and tactics although sometimes can affect the chemistry but thanks to that, you have a wide vision, if nuegas always equal.
