Despite apparent injury issues, a strong 3-1 start with a narrow 4 point road loss to Utah our only blemish. The new system at first blush appears to be a much better fit than what we ran last season

Mojave King badly needs preference work. He can be a weapon but I have to understand how to utilize him first. Might have to sit him the first week or so in order to give him some emergency pref work.

Scoot Henderson popped off for a game off the bench. 30/4/8 w. 3 stls.

Otherwise, we're just throwing stuff at the wall at the moment to see what sticks. It's preseason, why not see what lineups can be effective.

2-3 sim and mediocre play. It was mostly the backups playing, but they showed why they are and likely stay the backups.

It's pre-season, but 3-1 start so far, not too bad at all. Morant, Lofton, Reaves, and Epps are all playing very well.

Dillingham looks decent early on with good averages and efficiency. Defensively will need to improve some. Togashi looks to be even better and I'm not sure if he or Daniels will start at the moment.

Bediako's efficiency should improve else he would have lead our scoring I reckon. Looking forward to integrating Wells more this season and might need to get some instruction work into Filipowski as he likes to shoot it seems.

3-2 sim. Makoi obviously needs preference work but kinda like what I saw from him. Ongenda proved to be a promising rookie. Silva and Dosunmu both had interesting starts, now the question is can they carry it moving forward.

Very happy with preseason results. That starting lineup with Monk having a 30 rating is crazy. Clark doesn't look ready to start just yet offensively but the defense is completely there until the preference work.

Langford, LaMelo, Onu seem to have fantastic chemistry. I'm excited

A small sample size, but some interesting early data hinting at the Edwards acquisition being a good one. I also see Wesson with the potential to be the CSL version of Derrick Coleman.

totally forgot to add a DC so we were running on autopilot. Some interesting observations nevertheless. X can be a real difference maker once his locations are fixed - 8+ boards per game as SG is really good

Preseason is always a fun time to experiment. I played both rookies (Ross Williams and Hukporti) heavy minutes, as well as new 2nd year player Jarace Walker. Then I binded them together with a strong rebounder (G-Will) and a strong defender (Z-Will) so they wouldn’t get completely exposed, and I could get a better idea of how they’d look in the construct of a viable lineup.

Results are to be taken with a grain of salt, as it’s only 5 games and just preseason after all,; with most teams running experimental lineups themselves. But I was encouraged by the results. It’s clear the rooks and J Walk need some instruction work, but that’s an easy thing to address. Apart from that, they looked great. The defense was very noticeable: averaging 22 stocks and allowing just 89.6 ppg. That’ll play. Some of these new guys might be ready for 2nd unit minutes sooner than later.

Will change parts of the lineup to try out some other stuff for sim 2.

Castaneda was one of my favorite role player builds in recent seasons just for how much his size and skill contrast each other, I'll be pretty happy if he pans out into something

Looks like the start of a long season, playing small-ball with a fast pace might not win us many games but we get a chance to see how the core develops. It won't be easy beating most squads, even younger teams have become extremely competitive.

First test lineup struggled somewhat but Matas is looking very good as is Giddey.

Just need to find that Simmons Wemby sweet spot is all.
